Established in 1979, Shield Services Group have over 40 years’ experience as specialist technical contractors, working across a range of sectors and operating from 12 locations across England and Wales.

Our accreditations, memberships and awards are a formal recognition from industry regulatory bodies and a testimony to our focus on Health & Safety. Our management system certifications confirm that we operate at the highest levels. We have successfully operated ISO 9001 (quality), 14001 (environmental), and 45001 (previously 18001, health and safety) certifications for many years.

Asbestos Services

We hold a full three-year Health and Safety Executive (HSE) licence to undertake work with asbestos and provide a range asbestos removal, encapsulation and decontamination services under this license, using the latest technologies, processes and equipment. We are compliant with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 and the HSE Approved Codes of Practice (ACoP) L28, and have dedicated policies and procedures to ensure a consistent level of service.

Our Asbestos services include Removal & Remediation, Waste Collection & Disposal, and Equipment Servicing & Testing.

Asbestos Surveying and Consultancy

With over 30 years’ industry experience, our Asbestos surveys and consultancy services enable our clients to comply with their obligation under the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012.

Insulation

We have over 40 years’ experience supplying and installing quality insulation and we are full members of the Thermal Insulation Contractors Association (TICA).

Scaffolding

We are full members of National Access & Scaffolding Confederation (NASC).

We offer a full project management service along with installation of both simple and complex scaffold structures that can be tailored to suit your requirements.

We hold a license to undertake licensed asbestos-scaffolding and our scaffolding has also been adapted to the marine industry and can meet the challenges of confined spaces on board vessels, meaning we can build scaffold structures whilst vessels are in dock or on tour.

Marine Services

Shield Marine offers specialist marine services, both nationally and internationally, upgrading exteriors and interiors of vessels, including offshore works, sea-going ships, and marine vessels. We can supply complete contract management, engineering, hot lay-up maintenance, and hazardous surveys.

Our UKAS accredited Marine Services include: Marine Outfitting, Insulation & Fabrication, Surveys and In-service Maintenance.

Demolition Services

Our demolition services cover both public and private sector sites across the country and offer complete demolition services covering decommissioning, soft strip, mechanical demolition and remediation.

Mechanical & Electrical Services

Our Mechanical & Electrical Service offering includes everything from initial design stage through to installation and handover, including aftercare services, reactive call-outs and maintenance. We also provide green energy solutions and can install solar or thermal Electrical Vehicle (EV) charge points, solar power or photovoltaic panels.

Mechanical and Electrical services include: Heating Services, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, Hot & Cold Water systems, Gas Services, Renewable Technologies, Above Ground Drainage Systems, Design and installation of electrical works, Lightning protection, Low voltage, Upgrades and back-up power.

Fire and Security

Our Fire & Security services include the design, installation and maintenance of Fire Systems, Access Control Systems, CCTV and Intruder Alarms, to keep your property safe and secure.

We are fully certified, insured and approved and have been accredited by industry wide governing bodies, BAFE (British Approval for Fire Equipment) and SSAIB (Security Systems and Alarms Inspection Board). Our standards are in accordance EN45011 Product Certification Body and EN45012 as a Quality Management System Certification Body, and we are UKAS for the installation and maintenance of Intruder Alarms, CCTV and Access Control systems. We are also members of Safecontractor, CHAS and Constructionline.

Flooring Services

Shield Flooring Services supply and fit all types of commercial flooring, including hardwood, vinyl, laminate, rubber, carpet and carpet tiles, working with the leading major brands in the Industry such as Amtico, Karndean, Altro, Polyflor, Interface, Forbo, Brintons, Danfloor and Gradus.

Our service is construction industry focused and we have all relevant accreditations, health & safety and quality systems in place. All our flooring layers are CSCS registered and trained in all aspects of Health & Safety within the Construction Industry to ensure all requirements are met.
