That’s why we stock such an extensive, top quality range available for immediate hire and ready to be delivered to any location you choose. And, of course, all pre-inspected and fully serviced. Heavy Lifting

Heavy Lifting is one of our specialties, whether we provide you with the lifting gear or undertake the project ourselves. Our equipment can lift up to 900 tonnes and is adapted for either onshore or offshore work. We also stock a wide range of modular, under, multi-point and single point beams plus wire and Dyneema slings, chains, shackles and grommets. Lifting Gear UK has over 70 years’ experience of heavy lifting and we are happy to share our knowledge at on-site inspections to provide advice on planning and the best equipment and accessories to use.

Loler Inspection

If you are using lifting equipment you must comply with the Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 (LOLER) at all times. These require the equipment to be fit-for-purpose, suitably located, correctly installed and regularly checked by qualified inspectors. Our team can conduct statutory equipment examinations wherever you choose. They are qualified to do so through our comprehensive internal training schemes and LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineers Association).

Following a satisfactory examination, you will be given the necessary reports to ensure you’re operating within LOLER. You can access this information through Lifting Gear UK’s unique online portal ‘e-cert’.

Sales

At Lifting Gear UK, you can also buy any of the hire equipment listed in our catalogue. All sales items are offered both nationally and internationally and many can be dispatched/delivered the next day. Customer assurance is our top priority, so every piece of equipment is supplied with a valid test certificate and meets or exceeds all necessary standards. It can also be marked with your own personal identification number to assist traceability in the future, should that be necessary.

Proof Load Testing

To ensure the on-going safety of your lifting gear, we will visit your site and conduct extensive load testing, up to 600 tonnes. We can provide immediate certification and reports, either on paper or digitally. Any equipment we repair and service can also be load tested, as required.

Repair and Service

To minimize the time your equipment is out of commission, our trained technicians can carry out any servicing or repairs wherever you choose. Each item is provided with a detailed report of its thorough examination and can also be load tested if required. Most chain sling repairs can be done ‘same day’. We repair all types of lifting equipment including chain blocks, lever hoists, cable pullers, clamps and trolleys and hydraulic cylinders.

Contract Lifting

Our Lifting Projects UK division delivers contract lifting projects from start to finish with unerring precision and efficiency. This includes the planning, method statement, labour, plant and equipment and total project management. We can also provide feasibility studies, risk assessments and CAD drawings, plus lift supervisors, slingers, banksmen and riggers who are CSCS/CPCS accredited. In addition, we will arrange all required project insurance for your peace of mind.
