The company has appointed Andy Cook and Pete Kelly as specification managers. They will work closely with architects, housebuilders, specifiers and contractors to provide technical advice and support to ensure the right products, solutions and accessories are specified to ensure compliance with the Future Homes and Building Standards.
The appointments form part of the company’s strategy to develop the wood fibre insulation market as a product category. It also aims to increase the specification of its rigid boards, flexible batt insulation and air-injected wood fibre insulation across both new build and retrofit projects.
Pete Hollingworth, managing director at Steico, said: “It’s with great pleasure that I welcome Andy and Pete to Steico. Their recruitment adds a wealth of experience to our already knowledgeable specification team.”
“For architects, specifiers and contractors, this means greater access to practical, project-focused technical support at every stage of their project from design, calculations and modelling through to installation. This ensures that they will be able to specify with confidence, reduce risk and achieve compliance as the regulatory landscape shifts again with the introduction of the Future Homes and Building Standards.”
Cook started his career as a time served joiner and carpenter, progressing into contracts and project management before specialising in products and systems for energy efficient construction. His most recent roles saw him working as a technical specification advisor for Ecological Building Systems UK Ltd alongside delivering training for Verdancy Group.
Kelly brings 25 years of experience to the role. Most recently he worked at Adaptavate, where he worked with architects, merchants, specifiers and contractors to support the commercial roll-out of new products, as well as delivering CPDs. This wealth of experience will enable him to provide technical support for Steico's internal and external render systems.
