D-Drill & Sawing is a diamond drilling and concrete sawing specialist with offices across the country. White's role with the social mobility charity will include helping it to support young people from low-income backgrounds, underrepresented groups and those facing barriers to work by connecting them to career opportunities and employers in the construction sector.
White has been an advocate for skills and apprenticeships. She is part of the Government鈥檚 new Construction Skills Mission Board, which is developing and delivering a construction workforce action plan to recruit a target of 100,000 new workers each year until 2029.
She is also the former chair of UK construction鈥檚 representative trade body, Build UK, where she supported its annual Open Doors campaign that encourages construction employers to host insightful tours of their workplaces to young people.
White said, 鈥淚鈥檓 really enthused to be given the opportunity to use my extensive industry knowledge to help Construction Youth Trust unlock even more opportunities in construction for young people.
鈥淢y own specialist sub-contracting business would not be where it is today without apprentices 鈥� as 80 per cent of my workforce used to be one 鈥� and I know how essential they are to laying the foundations for long and successful careers."
