Carlile, who spent 24 years as a Royal Engineer in the British Army, will be lead for the national security and government, research and polar sectors.
He joins Ramboll from Aecom, where, for the last nine years, he led Aecom's defence and national security sector. In this role he led the sector鈥檚 growth strategy, establishing Aecom as a Tier 1 multidisciplinary engineering services consultancy to the UK Ministry of Defence and Foreign Office, defence OEMs globally, and US visiting forces in the UK.
The appointment follows the UK government鈥檚 publication of the strategic defence review last year, and ahead of the upcoming ten-year defence investment plan.
