Morgan Sindall to build 'eco block' for Ealing school

3 hours Morgan Sindall Construction’s London business has been appointed by Ealing Council to deliver a £29.3 million redevelopment at Villiers High School in Southall, centred on a new three-storey Eco teaching block.

The project, procured under the Southern Construction Framework, will replace an outdated 1960s building. The three story energy efficient block will include 22 classrooms, 11 science laboratories, six ICT/media suites, staff and welfare facilities, and a rooftop sky garden.

The block forms part of the schools sustainability goals, with air source heat pumps, rooftop solar panels and rainwater conservation systems.

Morgan Sindall will deliver a comprehensive social value programme, including an employment and skills plan to create local jobs, develop skills and support career pathways.

Delivered in partnership with Ealing Council, West London College, Jobcentre Plus, Construction Youth Trust and Bounce Back, the programme will offer site tours, career talks, workshops and pre-employment training, alongside 10 new jobs, three apprenticeships, 16 work experience placements and one T-Level opportunity.
