Hill International to manage €600m Kosovo highway project

17 Sep 14 The government of Kosovo has awarded Hill International a contract to manage construction of the Route 6 highway.

Hill International鈥檚 five-and-a-half-year contract for the聽 Pristina-Hani i Elezit highway has an estimated value to Hill of approximately 鈧7.1m (拢5.7m).

The 60km highway has strategic importance for the聽 Kosovo economy, representing one of two keyconnections with聽 trans-European corridors. The 鈧600m (拢479m) project will聽 provide a direct connection between Pristina, the capital city of聽 Kosovo, and Skopje, the capital city of Macedonia, reducing travel聽 time by more than half.

"The existing Route 6 between Pristina and Macedonia is a rural route聽 with low capacity, few services and poor security conditions," said聽 John Arnold, senior vice president and managing director (Europe)聽 for Hill's project management group. "The new Route 6 will聽 significantly improve travel conditions and positively impact the region's economy."
