The Scania P500 Highline 8X2 32T was mounted with a F545RA.2.25 loader crane capable of lifting 3080kg at 14.2m, and a custom-built, heavy-duty Mac鈥檚 Spec cheesewedge body offering a highly versatile 10-tonne payload. It is also specified with a VBG drawbar coupling, which the operator expects to utilise roughly twice a week when extra capacity is needed.
The truck will be on the road five to six days a week. It is tasked with handling a broad spectrum of specialist loads, including containers, pipework, holding tanks, trackway panel matting, and heavy plant machinery.
To meet the tight turnaround, Mac鈥檚 Truck Sales utilised a ready-to-go stock build, integrating it into Wrights of Twycross鈥檚 fleet, which comprises 75% Scania vehicles.
Brad Hunt, operations manager at Wrights of Twycross, says: "Finding a stock Scania that already featured the Highline sleeper cab, premium entertainment, a fridge, microwave and creature comforts required meant we didn鈥檛 have to compromise on driver wellbeing to meet our urgent deadline."
Brad adds, "Our mantra as a business is to give the right people the right equipment to do the job. We run a one-driver, one-truck policy, and when a driver is spending eight to ten hours a day in the cab, providing a premium living package is essential鈥.
