Latest data from the Insolvency Service shows that there were 324 construction insolvencies in April 2025.

Mark Supperstone, partner at accountancy firm S&W, said: 鈥淭he construction sector saw a small respite in April with monthly insolvencies down by almost 14% from the previous month. While this is welcome news, the sector remains under considerable strain, and the recent data paints a picture of cautious resilience amid ongoing structural challenges.鈥
He added: 鈥淭he next quarter will be critical in determining whether the sector can steady itself 鈥 or slide further.鈥
