The stakes were previously held by Anglo American directly or indirectly in the six companies, which are jointly owned or operated with a number of major partners聽 - Al聽 Futtaim,聽 Al聽 Zawawi聽 and聽 Midmac. The companies specialise in road construction and the production of construction aggregates and asphalt.
The acquisitions are in line with Colas鈥� development strategy in the Middle East. Combined, the companies, backed by 900 employees, produce 7.5 million tonnes of aggregates聽 and 1.6 million tonnes of asphalt mix per year via three quarries and 10 asphalt plants. Global聽 revenue totals roughly 鈧�150m (拢112m), of which Colas鈥� share amounts to 鈧�80m.
