Andy Thompson will be responsible for Atkins’ entire offshore wind portfolio, which covers concept design and studies, detailed design and asset management services and includes four contracts with Dong Energy at offshore wind farms across the UK, turbine jacket design at the Beatrice offshore wind farm in Scotland, and the transportation concept design for Statoil’s Hywind project.

Mr Thompson previously played a leading role in Atkins’ nuclear business where he was responsible for growth outside of the UK across Europe, Asia and Africa, and directing major projects and multi-national joint ventures.  Prior to this, Andy was part of Atkins’ offshore renewables team.
