Connaught has announced that it will start work on a housing repairs and maintenance contract for Norwich City Council on 8 April 鈥 after a delay caused due to an injunction taken out by incumbent contractor Morrison.
Connaught announced in December that it had won a 拢125m five year integrated services contract with Norwich County Council.
But the award of the permanent contract was delayed as a result of a high court injunction brought by Morrison, whose CityCare outfit held the contract previously.
Mr Justice Arnold said that Morrison had a "seriously arguable" case that Connaught's bid was "abnormally low" and that the council had not properly evaluated it.
However, a settlement has now been reached between Norwich and Morrison.
A spokeswoman for Norwich City Council said: 鈥淲e鈥檙e pleased we鈥檝e been able to resolve our differences with Morrison in connection with the demobilisation of CityCare services.鈥
A Connaught statement said: 鈥淲e have been informed that a settlement has been reached. We began work as planned on 1 April under a short-term contract and the permanent contract is due to start on 8 April.鈥
